Buffalo, NY: A national school bus tour led by March of Our Lives, Change the Ref, and LUSH Cosmetics will stop in Buffalo next week on Tuesday, August 27th at Walden Galleria to promote a technology-powered campaign focused on fighting gun violence. Led by Manuel and Patricia Oliver who lost their son Joaquin ā€œGuacā€ Oliver in the Parkland Mass Shooting, Buffalo is the 9th stop of a 16-stop, 14 state tour that brings attention to the gun violence epidemic and its devastating impact on young people.

The Shotline uses artificial intelligence to bring to life voices of children killed by gun violence and includes a phone booth that invites people to send their message to Congress. The messages were produced in close partnership with the parents of the children. Lawmakers will receive detailed calls from victims like Joaquin Oliver saying,

ā€œHello Iā€™m Joaquin Oliver. Six years ago, I was a senior at Parkland. Many students and teachers were murdered on Valentineā€™s Day that year a person using an AR-15, but you donā€™t care. You never did. Itā€™s been six years and youā€™ve done nothing. Not a thing to stop all the shootings that have happened since.ā€

The center of each tour stop will be the ā€œGuacā€ Bus, a modified school bus constructed by Manny Oliver in homage to Joaquinā€™s memory and all those who have lost their lives to gun violence. The bus will be parked at Walden Galleria on Tuesday, August 27th at 12:00 p.m. outside the main mall entrance between Forever21 and Five Guys, near LUSH Cosmetics. Guests and customers who interact and step foot on the bus to learn about the campaign will receive a free LUSH Cosmetics bath bomb to take home with them. The bus tour will continue throughout this month, making stops in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Raleigh and Washington, D.C.
