While other retailers are closing down stores and focusing more on digital, cult beauty brand, Lush Cosmetics, is doing the complete opposite. The billion-dollar global brand is going bigger in 2017 and bucking the downsizing trend of many bricks-and-mortar storefronts across North America by relocating several of their existing shops into larger locations.
Distinctly designed with the New York “Lushie” in mind, the Lush shop at Walden Galleria will be undergoing major renovations and re-opening its doors in June 2017, nearly tripling the square footage of its original location. The new shop, taking inspiration from Lush’s 10,000 square foot flagship store on London’s Oxford Street, will fully embrace retail design, while staying true to the brand’s core value of continuously developing and embracing new ways to cut back on their environmental footprint.
Outfitted almost entirely in reclaimed wood ethically sourced from Portland, Oregon, the shop’s walls, flooring, and shelving were all once barns or industrial buildings, and will soon be recycled to showcase the handmade and ethical products. Vintage school chairs will be used for one-on-one product consultations, while two stunning, concrete sinks for bath bomb and bubble demos will be key to the shop’s striking furnishings.
