Windsong Mobile Mammography at Walden Galleria August 27th
— 3D Breast cancer screening service available for women at region’s largest shopping center —
Buffalo, NY: Although early detection of breast cancer is saving lives, many busy women have little time to get screened. To make it even easier for women who are busy with back to school shopping, Windsong Radiology Group has partnered with WGRZ – Channel 2 to provide its mobile mammography service on Tuesday, August 27th at Walden Galleria.
Windsong’s mobile mammogram unit will be located in the shopping center’s parking lot between Macy’s and World of Beer from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing busy women with the opportunity to have their breast cancer screening.
Women are reminded that a doctor’s script is required for the breast cancer screening which is covered by insurance. Women that are interested are encouraged to schedule their appointment to minimize wait time. Women without insurance are also welcome. According to Dr. Markus Holzhauer, medical director of the mobile unit, the goal of the mobile mammogram unit is to eliminate barriers to this life saving exam. Early detection of breast cancer, when it is most easily treated, does save lives.
The ‘mobile mammo’ provides women the same access to Windsong Radiology’s high quality services, including 3D mammography or digital breast tomosynthesis, a state of the art technology that has proven to detect smaller cancers earlier, when they are easier to treat.
To date, over 3000 women have been able to take advantage of Windsong’s mobile mammography thanks to many partners throughout Western New York who are equally dedicated to removing barriers to access.
