YourCare Health Plan to Host Teddy Bear Clinic at Walden Galleria

Buffalo, NY: YourCare Health Plan will be hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic at Walden Galleria on Saturday, November 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This free event will be located in the common area outside of Lord & Taylor on the first level of the shopping center and will focus on teaching children more about doctors’ appointments and healthy habits.
All families with children are welcome to attend, as YourCare Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joe Stankaitis, will be on-site to help provide stuffed animal “check-ups”, and guests will receive complimentary YourCare teddy bears. Event attendees will be provided the opportunity to learn more about the free or low-cost health insurance plans that YourCare offers, as well as their benefits and wellness programs. Refreshments, including fresh popcorn from DocPopcorn, giveaways, children’s activities, and photo-ops with the YourCare bear mascot will be included. In addition, attendees can enter for a chance to win one of two Build-A-Bear packages – a new stuffed animal with accessories and a $10 gift card to the store.
YourCare, a not-for-profit organization that insures residents eligible for Medicaid, Child Health Plus (CHP), Essential Plan, and other government-sponsored programs, will have Marketplace Facilitated Enrollers on-site to assist those that qualify in signing up for free or low-cost health insurance.
There are two YourCare offices in Western New York that welcome current and prospective members to meet with enrollment staff. The downtown office, located at 446 Main Street, just steps from Lafayette Square, is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Williamsville office, located at 6400 Sheridan Drive, Suite 120, is also open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to applying for free or low-cost health insurance, visitors can recertify their current health insurance plan, and link to community support services.
